Waves Generated by Electron Beam in a Crater-Shaped Flux Rope

Understanding the nature and characteristics of high-frequency waves inside a flux rope may be important as wave-particle interaction is for charged-particle energization ensuing dissipation process. We analyze generated by an electron beam in crater-shaped magnetic observed MMS spacecraft on dawnside tailward magnetopause. In this observation, depression field, or crater, ?100 km located at center ?650 km. There exist parallel perpendicular electrostatic wave modes field rope, they are distinguished their locations frequencies. The mode exists its power spectrum peaks below F ce (electron cyclotron frequency). contrast, outer region associated with depression, near . linear analysis kinetic instability using generalized dispersion solver shows that can 5,000 km/s. They thermalize electrons ?100 eV effectively. However, generation mechanism not clear yet, which requires further study.
